During the 1995-96 season Helston reached the "dizzy heights" of making the final of the Pilkington Shield. Helston played Newcastle Medicals RFC. Unfortunately the ultimate reward for the fantastic season was not to be as Medicals won the game 16-6. However all involved in the club realised that even to reach the final was a fantastic achievement for such a small junior club.
